Read Ezra 7:1 through 10:44
Published: Sep 2, 2017
Ezra had devoted himself to the study and observance of the Law of the Lord, and to teaching its decrees and laws in Israel (Ezra 7:10).
Ezra was committed to God and the Law. Ezra’s life reflected that commitment. He proved himself trustworthy, and God blessed him and the nation of Israel through him.
The Lord caused the king of Babylon to allow Ezra and all the Jews who wanted to go with him to return to Jerusalem. The king also provided Ezra with the supplies needed to rebuild God’s temple in Jerusalem. Ezra’s desire to teach God’s law to the Israelites in his homeland became a reality.
Ezra’s commitment is an example for those who desire to teach from God’s Word. Study the Word so it becomes alive in your heart. Live the Word through the power of the Holy Spirit. Then teach from a heart filled with love for God and for people.
Prayer Suggestion: Lord, help me live in obedience to You so that I am a credible witness for You.
